Loo Sun Din
Dr Loo Sun Din is a Specialist in Jaw and Face Surgery.
He first qualified from the National University of Singapore in 2005 before being awarded a scholarship to pursue post-graduate specialist training in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Hong Kong, where he developed a discerning interest in facial recontouring, complex jaw and face surgery and dental implant rehabilitation.
Dr Loo dedicated eleven years of his career to public service at the busiest surgical units in Hong Kong and Singapore, holding clinical positions in Queen Mary Hospital (HKG), Prince Philip Dental Hospital (HKG), Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (SGP) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (SGP).
Currently, he maintains his role as Visiting Consultant to several public and private hospitals in Singapore.
Embracing sharing and exchange of knowledge, Dr Loo is a teaching faculty in local and overseas surgical courses in corrective jaw & facial surgeries and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSAS).
He is a member of Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AOCMF) and the International Society of Head and Neck Trauma (iSHANT). He also co-wrote a chapter in dental implants for surgery textbook in his spare time.
Thushala Ubaya
Dr Thushala Ubaya qualified in dentistry with honours in 2000 in London as valedictorian. Following that she obtained her Membership in Orthodontics with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a Masters of Science in Orthodontics at the University of Glasgow. She then undertook further consultant senior orthodontic training at King’s College Hospital in London to obtain her Fellowship in Orthodontics in 2011 and is currently a Fellow of Dental Surgery in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr Ubaya has worked as an NHS Consultant Orthodontist at the Royal London Dental Hospital and a Clinical Lecturer at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London. She was also the Lead NHS Consultant Orthodontist and Head of the Orthodontic department at Queen’s Hospital, Romford, Essex, for five years. In addition to her hospital roles, she worked part-time in private practice in London for six years.
Dr Ubaya is passionate about managing children and adults with dentofacial problems. Her areas of expertise include:
- Fixed braces – “nearly invisible” cosmetic white fixed braces or metal fixed braces
- Digital orthodontics – clear aligner treatments like Invisalign and ClearCorrect aligner systems
- Early intervention treatments for younger children – bite correction and expansion of arches in the growing child
- Managing teenagers and adults with complex jaw and teeth problems requiring orthodontics in conjunction with corrective jaw surgery
- Micro and macro smile aesthetics
Her passion is to deliver a positive body image experience with orthodontics, to help patients achieve a beautiful, healthy and straight smile that allows a patient to feel happy and confident.
Dr Ubaya is friendly, approachable and empathetic, especially with the younger children or the more nervous patients. She is happy to work through any questions or concerns you may have before tailoring the treatment uniquely to each individual’s needs.
Outside of work, Dr Ubaya very much enjoys trying delicious cuisines and exotic new restaurants, with lots of swimming to allow her body to keep up with her foodie adventures and travelling the world over to check out interesting cultures and exciting new cuisines of course!
Tasneem Rangwala
Dr Tasneem Rangwala grew up and trained in the United States of America. A native of Philadelphia, she attended the University of Pennsylvania for her undergraduate degree. She then graduated at the top of her class from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following dental school, she completed a three-year orthodontic residency program at Montefiore Medical Center, earning a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. She then obtained her board certification with the American Board of Orthodontics. With over ten years of clinical experience, she worked in private practice in New York City and Austin, Texas, before relocating to Singapore and joining the Smilefocus team.
Dr Tasneem is passionate about creating beautiful and healthy smiles for people of all ages – both children and adults. Her areas of expertise include:
● Traditional braces, including both metal and ceramic (“clear”) braces
● Invisalign
● Early interceptive treatment for growing children
● Digital orthodontics
● Surgical orthodontics for jaw correction

Outside the office, Dr Tasneem enjoys running, travelling, singing along to Taylor Swift, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
Carean Lim She Min
Carean graduated from Nanyang Polytechnic with a diploma in Oral Health Therapy, in 2011, on a Health Promotion Board Sponsorship. Carean was attached to the Health Promotion Board from 2016-2021 and has worked extensively with schools and pre schools as part of their School Dental Service. Other than providing oral care, she has also been actively involved in HPBs Oral health education programs.
Carean has a passion for dentistry and strives to work alongside her patients in a collaborative effort to help achieve not only a healthy, confident smile, but sustainable overall health.
