Social distancing measures have been introduced to reduce the risk of further local transmission of COVID-19 in the community. As such, people are being discouraged from making unnecessary trips out of home.
Dental Care is an essential service and Smilefocus will not close, but we still need to do our part. In order to safeguard the well-being of patients, dentists and our staff we are deferring elective dental services and procedures, and non-emergency dental care, from 7 April to 4 May. This is as advised by MOH (Ministry of Health).
We will complete ongoing restorative procedures, such as crowns or fillings. If deferral of treatment could lead to a worsening of your condition, we can treat you. All patients will be contacted individually to discuss their treatment needs.
If you do have dental pain or if you break a tooth you should certainly still contact us for an appointment.
It will take a few days to contact everyone, but in the meantime be advised that all routine examinations and cleanings, whitening procedures, and many orthodontic adjustment and review appointments will be rescheduled. Debondings of appliances will be delayed.
If, however, deferral of your orthodontic appointment could lead to a worsening of your condition, of course we will treat you. Each patient will be assessed and contacted separately.
If you are on LOA, SHN or QO and you require urgent or emergency dental treatment you will need to seek treatment at NDCS or NUCOHS. If you have a fever and you require emergency treatment, you will need to contact NDCS or NUCOHS.
